About Kim
Our Member Spotlight Event focuses in on Kim Korven, also known as the “Conflict Queen” and founder of The Gentle Way Divorce.
During her career as a lawyer, mediator, and judge of landlord and tenant disputes, Kim created a better way to resolve conflict than the norms she had learned and practiced. This approach is based on the principles of judo, which in English means “the gentle way”: Maximum efficiency with minimum effort; and Mutual welfare and benefit.
Kim uses these principles in her work. She trains and supports individuals to authentically communicate with grace when they are experiencing conflict. Shame and blame disappear, and deeper connections are forged. The individuals are empowered and create better results for everyone impacted by the dispute.
Kim lives in Regina, Saskatchewan in Canada’s Treaty 4 Territory with her husband, two children, and rescue greyhounds and cats. She grew up on a farm and is the third generation in her family to steward 160 acres of natural prairie.
